Last night I went to a house party with a “silent DJ.”  Just before midnight, the DJ handed out dozens of wireless headphones to everyone on the dance floor.  This enabled us to dance our little hearts out without a single noise violation from the police.

I’ll admit, on paper, this kind of sounds like a lame idea.  But in practice, a silent DJ party is totally rad.  The novelty of the situation actually encourages people who might not ordinarily dance at a house party to get out and cut the rug.  Above is a video of the experience, where participants can be heard singing along to that new intergalactic smash hit “Christmas In Da Club.”

It bears mentioning that last night’s party was a tri-fold celebration of Christmas, Heather’s birthday, and Heather’s engagement to Brennan.  It was a wonderful evening.
